[ well, scratch that. luceti, this night you're treated to the sight of a very angry blonde man wielding a door, chasing after a smaller man, all the while roaring at the top of his lungs. i hope you weren't trying to sleep or be productive. ]

[ izaya had gotten him good and lost. running blind in an unfamiliar, dark forest had not been the smartest of ideas and he was paying for the dearly now. thoroughly exhausted, the most the man managed to do once he got out of the forest was toss down the tree he was going to bludgeon the flea to death with and lean over, hands on his knees, taking deep breaths to try to calm the pounding headache throbbing at his temples and stop himself from tearing the whole place apart just to find him.

sitting back up and wiping the sweat from his forehead, he pulled his phone from his back pocket... he'd been in there for nearly two hours... or was it three? he hadn't been watching the clock when he'd taken off. and if it weren't for the dim light from the screen, he'd have been in there until dawn.] Damnit... [ he wiped his mouth, glanced at the blood staining his shirt with a sour expression. reaching into his pocket he tugged his cigarette and lighter out and leaned back heavily against the tree. ] Fucking louse.

[Richard isn't ready to go back home just yet. For one thing, he's determined to find Shizuo and apologize (as much to ease his own mind as anything else), and for another, he doesn't really want to come home less than sober yet again.

But without any clear idea of where to look, that means a heck of a lot of aimless wandering in the hopes of spotting the other. Given how loud they were when they left, he didn't really think they would be that hard to find...

The click of the lighter and the warm glow of the flame draws his attention over to the tree; curious, he takes a few steps closer to see who it is.]

Who's there?

[ that's a familiar voice. shizuo tilts his head back and exhales slowly, letting the smoke stream out of the corner of his mouth. he's calmer now, mostly because izaya is far out of sight and he's too damn tired to hunt him down like he'd like to... he should go home, get some sleep, get ready for work tomorrow. ]

Ah? [ he rubs the back of his neck with his free hand. ] Shizuo Heiwajima. Who're you?

[Good, he's calm. That's one point in Shizuo's favor, zero for that Izaya guy-- and Zack as well, since he'd given a similar warning.

That means Richard feels a little more comfortable teasing a bit. Just a little.]

Have you really forgotten my voice that quickly? I'm almost hurt.

... Sorry.

[Richard shakes his head.]

No, I'm the one who should apologize for being so forward without thinking. I'm sorry.

[ click! ] Oh. You're the guy from the bar.

Richard, yes. That's why I wanted to apologize.

S'alright. I was just in a bad mood because that guy was around somewhere.

I'd hate to see what he would have looked like if you'd caught up to him.

[Then, spotting what seems to be a dark stain on Shizuo's shirt in the pale light of the man's cigarette:]

... although it almost looks like he caught up to you.

I would have killed him. [ he looks down, just remembering the injury. ] Damnit! I'm running out of these... I wonder if I can get that out.

I'm afraid I can't help with that part, but I can heal the wound if you'll let me.

It's fine. It's not that deep.

The blood would seem to indicate otherwise.

've had worse.

I'm sure you have, but if you don't allow me to heal it, you're going to get even more blood on that shirt.

You can heal it if you want but it's just a scratch.

[Good enough for him. Richard steps closer and holds up a hand to hover it over the stain.]

Now, hold still.

[There's a brief green glow, and when Richard moves his hand away, the wound should be at least mostly healed.

He smiles.]

Consider that my apology.

[ as shizuo said, it was really only a surface scratch. it's healed up nicely, though it probably would have been healed in a day or two. ]

I've got work tomorrow.

Then don't let me keep you up too late-- I don't think Zack would be very pleased with a bartender dozing off on the job.
